Xeldem Zilla Panchayat member, Sidharth Gauns Desai is all set to become the vice-Chairperson of the South Goa Zilla Panchayat.
For, the Presiding Officer, Gaurish Sankhwalkar has received the lone nomination paper of Sidharth for the vacant post of South Goa ZP vice-Chairperson. The election is scheduled on Thursday.
Sidharth’s candidature was cleared by the BJP leadership on Wednesday morning at a meeting of the ruling party ZP members in the city. The ruling BJP ZP memb
ers led by South Goa ZP chief Sanjana Velip accompanied Sidharth Gauns Desai to the office of to the Presiding officer to file his nomination papers.
The post of South Goa ZP vice-Chairperson had fallen vacant after outgoing vice-Chairperson Kushali Velip had tendered his resignation following a diktat from the BJP leadership.
