Traffic on the Margao-Colva road was disrupted for some time on Sunday after a heavy duty vehicle tried to cross the subway (road under bridge) at the Mungul railway bridge.
When the Karnataka-registered heavy duty vehicle carrying cement tried to make its way, the vehicle hit the railing erected at the entrance to the subway. The railing came down on the vehicle and lay on the road, disrupting traffic on the busy Margao-Colva road.
The vehicle driver pointed out that while he had made a halt near the subway, aware that the vehicle will not pass through the subway, someone told him that it will pass, before it hit the railing.
