High voter turnout in Sattari to benefit BJP in North Goa seat: Valpoi MLA

Health Minister Vishwajit Rane said a high voter turnout in Sattari taluka on Tuesday would benefit the BJP with a massive lead in North Goa.   

Speaking to reporters, Rane said the high voter turnout had been the result of his efforts to create awareness among voters by holding various corner meetings and public meetings.   

“Voters have opted for the BJP and Shripad Naik will get a huge lead from Sattari taluka,” said Rane.   

Voicing similar thoughts, Poriem MLA Deviya Rane said there had been a large turnout in her constituency in favour of the BJP after appreciated the various development projects in her constituency over the last two years.   

Both claimed that the voting had taken place as per expectations and were confidence that BJP would secure most votes in Sattari taluka.   

Meanwhile, voting was peaceful across Sattari taluka on Tuesday. There was a sizeable number of new voters in both constituencies of Sattari taluka.

Many were happy to get the opportunity to participate in the polls for the first time.   

Incidentally, many voters complained that cold drinks and water bottles were not made available at some polling stations in Sattari taluka, despite the Election Commission’s promise to voters arriving at the polling station during the severe heat.
