CURCHOREM: Locals from Curchorem, Sanguem and Quepem areas celebrated Holi festival, with many people, including elders and children, taking part in the celebrations.
No incident was registered at Sanguem, Quepem and Curchorem police stations during the Holi festival.
Various programmes and other events are being organised in Quepem, Curchorem and Sanguem areas.
Meanwhile, the Curchorem-Sanvordem Shigmotsav Samiti 2016 in association with Goa Tourism Department will organise various cultural and entertainment programme from March 29 to 31.
On March 29, there will be Shigmotsav Dhwajarohan at about 6 pm by Curchorem MLA Nilesh Cabral and Sanvordem MLA Ganesh Gaonkar and in the evening, there will be semi-classical singing programme by Zee Marathi Sa Re Ga Ma Pa artistes 'Rang Suranche'.
On March 30, there will be cultural programme 'Great Maratha', in which about 35 professional artistes will participate, while on March 31, there will be Shigmotsav float parade, which will start from railway station to Curchorem KTC bus stand. Romtamel, fancy dress, Goan traditional dances, etc, will be presented by the artistes.
