The Vigilance section of the Power Department carried out a raid at places at Pajifond on Tuesday and caught red-handed two households for stealing power.
Acting on a tip-off, the Vigilance department along with officials of the sub-division led by Assistant Engineer, Carlos Fernandes, raided the two houses.
Carlos informed the houses had meters fixed in their premises, but bypassed these causing loss to the department. The department was prompt in disconnecting the supply to the households.
He informed that the department will issue notices to the households asking them to show cause why they should not be imposed an assessment penalty amounting to Rs 35,000 and Rs 10,000 respectively for consuming electricity sans billing.
