Hundreds bid final adieu to Sr Jane

People from all walks of life bid adieu to Sr Marie Jane Pinto as her mortal remains were laid to rest at Our Lady of Rosary Church Cemetery, Navelim on Thursday.

Archbishop Filipe Neri Ferrao led the faithful in paying tributes to Sr Mary Jane as hundreds of people comprising priests, nuns, students, officials, besides local villagers paid their last respects to the departed nun. Among others present for the funeral were Fisheries Minister, Avertano Furtado, GPCC president Luizinho Faleiro and Inspector General of Prisons Elvis Gomes.

In his homily, the Archbishop Ferrao said that Sr Marie Jane gave her entire life in the service of others, first in the field of education by showing the right path to the children.

“Sr Jane also worked for the betterment of the Society she belonged and also served the prisoners. Sr. Jane gave her entire life for others. She showed mercy towards others during her lifetime,” he said.
