Idol installation at Agassaim

AGASSAIM: The new idol of Lord Shree Vatareshwar will be installed with traditional fervour at Shree Vatareshwar temple in Agassaim on May 4, at 10 am.

The new idol will be taken to Shree Vatareshwar temple at Agassaim in a procession on May 3, at 5 pm and will be installed on May 4, amid religious ceremonies. Religious programmes will be organised on May 4 and 5.

Ramesh Kerkar of Agassaim said the festival is a sacred occasion for the devotees of Agassaim village.

The programme on May 4, at 10 am includes the idol installation ceremony, followed by mahaabhishek, punyahvachan, havan and mahaprasad. On May 5, Sandy Group will perform orchestra at 9 pm.

In all, the DoE has received applications from 34 schools/educational societies for opening primary sections for the academic year 2016-17. Of these, 11 have applied for Konkani medium, 10 for English medium, seven for Urdu medium and six for Marathi medium.
