Incessant rains throughout Sunday disrupted normal life in Salcete, with reports of water logging and tree fall on houses coming in from several places in the taluka.
Margao fire brigade was literally on its toes on Sunday with rescue and emergency coming in following trees crashing on two houses at Ravora, Mandopa in Navelim and at Sirvodem in the Khareband area of the city.
Vehicular traffic was disrupted at several places on Sunday. The Rawanfond traffic junction was inundated. The road going to Shantinagar was flooded at the junction, disrupting traffic.
As usual, the Margao station road was flooded, disrupting vehicular traffic. Shop owners pointed out that despite assurances by the Margao Municipal Council and PWD, waterlogging was rampant at the station road near the footbridge this season.
The Seraulim subway, built recently to tide over traffic issues at the railway crossing, was inundated with water.
