Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar launched the portal which according to the IT policy 2015-20 would allow companies belonging to IT/ITES and ESDM units to register. In the second phase of its implementation, the system will also allow for reimbursements for power, internet, VAT, stamp duty and salaries.
Explaining the process, DoIT director Ameya Abhyankar said the claim forms for reimbursement would be made available in two weeks time. IT companies would be able to file their claims and they will then be verified by each department. A committee will be set up to sort out the payments which will then be sent to their registered bank accounts, he said.
The chief minister, he added would be able to monitor the stages of each approval through a dashboard to facilitate transparent and time bound completion of claims.
Parsekar on his part welcomed the system adding that the government was serious on preventing brain drain of talent from the state.
“It’s true that we missed the first IT bus but we will not miss the second. There are 1,500 students that graduate in this field but fail to get jobs thus causing talent from the state to move out.
IT companies that were registered with the Department of Industries and Commerce in the past will now be registered with DoIT.
Chief Secretary R K Srivastava signed a memorandum with STPI, an autonomous body under the Department of Electronics and IT, Government of India to enable statutory services through single window clearance for software exports.
Speaking to media persons after the signing of the MOU, Director General, STPI, Dr Omkar Rai said, “We are entering into a long-term project in Goa and have been allotted land at the IT Park. Before that however, we will also be launching a plug and play at Udyog Bhavan in Panjim as an interim measure.”
Abhyankar also added that the department was in the process of implementing several schemes in the IT sector to the Scheduled Caste and Tribes community to promote the sector.
