Jharkhand native held with ganja

A 41-year-old man was arrested by Verna Police after he was allegedly found in possession of 1.362 kg of ganja worth about Rs 1.36 lakh during a narcotics raid at Zuarinagar in Sancoale.

The accused, Nandkishor Ray (41), a native of Sarwan in Jharkhand who is currently residing at Zuarinagar-Sancoale, was apprehended during a raid conducted opposite the Bay Village Residential Complex between 10.05 pm and 11.40 pm on June 25. The raid was carried out following specific and reliable information received by the police. During the operation, police allegedly seized 1.362 kg of ganja valued at around Rs 1,36,200 from his possession. Ray was subsequently arrested and remains in police custody.

Further investigation is being carried out by PSI Prisley Carvalho of Verna Police Station under the supervision of PI Anand Shirodkar and the guidance of Mormugao DySP Gurudas Kadam.
