Kamat bail hearing now on June 5

The hearing in the anticipatory bail application filed by former Chief Minister and current Margao MLA Digambar Kamat in the case of illegal mining was adjourned to June 5 after Kamat sought more time.

 The Special Investigation Team (SIT) investigating the mining excesses, believed to have taken place between 2007 and 2012, is seeking the custodial interrogation of Digambar Kamat who was the then chief minister as well as mines minister.   
When the case came up for hearing, Kamat’s counsel sought for more time, which was granted and the matter was adjourned to June 5.

CCP to write to govt on sanitation fees

Corporation of City of Panaji has decided to write to the State Government to direct the government offices and in-charge of government quarters to pay sanitation fees to CCP from the current financial year onwards.
