At the airport, Kejriwal was welcomed by party leaders and also met the taxi drivers who shared their concerns on tourism slowdown, lockdown and the pandemic. Taxi drivers who depend on tourism for their daily bread, have been unable to earn money ever since the start of the pandemic and have received no support from the State’s BJP government, he stated.

In Panaji, Kejriwal met by many leaders, including a delegation of the Bhandari Samaj.

The pary stated that the Bhandari Samaj delegation shared concerns and explained how despite the economic slowdown, the BJP government in Goa had taken no steps to help the common Goenkars.

Members of the delegation narrated the problems faced due to bad healthcare system and uncaring government. They praised the AAP’s initiatives in Delhi for providing help to many people from the backward section of the society to weather the economic slowdown due to the pandemic.

They also highlighted how youth from the Bhandari Samaj were being cheated by the local MLAs and political leaders when it came to the fact of providing jobs. They explained that MLAs promised jobs only at election time and later made them beg for the same.

They expressed their wish to Arvind Kejriwal that this kind of politics in Goa must end and expressed their confidence that Aam Aadmi Party is the only party who can end this kind of politics in Goa.

At the end of the meeting, they invited the Delhi CM to Rudreshwar temple. Kejriwalji obliged and went to the temple and performed aarti and interacted with the local there.

AAP Goa Convenor Rahul Mhambre said, “Goenkars wholeheartedly welcomed Kejriwal to Goa. They look forward to his next announcement.”
