Addressing a press conference in Goa, Kejriwal said devotees from across the country had contributed to the construction of the Ram Temple with deep faith and were now distressed by reports of alleged thefts.
"People donated with immense devotion. Now reports are emerging that Lord Ram's necklace, paduka, ornaments, diamonds, precious stones and even silver bricks donated by devotees have been stolen. Every new revelation is hurting the faith of crores of Sanatanis," he alleged.
Kejriwal also referred to alleged land transactions linked to the Ram Temple Trust in 2021, claiming land parcels were purchased at heavily inflated prices.
"There were land deals where property worth Rs 4 crore was allegedly bought for Rs 95 crore. These documents are in the public domain," he claimed.
He further alleged that CCTV footage had captured multiple thefts and claimed that eight months of surveillance footage had been deleted.
"What I am saying is only the tip of the iceberg. We don't know how much more has been stolen," he said.
Accusing Prime Minister Narendra Modi of protecting those responsible, Kejriwal claimed no meaningful action had been taken despite repeated warnings.
"We are not saying the money reached the Prime Minister because we have no proof of that, but the sequence of events shows those responsible are being protected," he alleged.
Kejriwal also questioned the investigation into the alleged theft, claiming the Special Investigation Team (SIT) lacked credibility and that the arrests made so far were only of junior workers.
"They have arrested eight junior workers, recovered only around Rs 80 lakh despite allegations involving hundreds of crores, and sent them directly to judicial custody instead of police custody. These arrests, the FIR and the resignations are merely an attempt to divert attention," he claimed.
Kejriwal demanded stringent action against those allegedly involved. "They must be identified, arrested and sent to jail. The country deserves to know who is being protected and why," he said.
Kejriwal also welcomed the reported decision of the Ayodhya Bar Association to pass a resolution that no lawyer would represent those allegedly involved in the case.
"The entire society should boycott these 'donation thieves' and those associated with them. I appreciate the courage shown by the Bar Association," he said.
