Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convenor and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal will arrive in Goa on Sunday to address a grand public rally at Campal. This will be Kejriwal’s first public address to fire up the party's ambitious poll campaign in the run-up to the State Assembly elections.
Rupesh Shinkre, media head, AAP, Goa, said, “Kejriwal is arriving by an Indigo flight at 2.55 pm at Dabolim airport on Sunday. At the airport, he will accorded a traditional welcome by tribal women.”
Shinkre also informed that enroute to Panaji, the AAP leader will also halt at Goa Velha to meet fishermen from Siridao, who will be handing over a petition to Kejriwal and apprise him about problems they are facing in the State. He will then head to Campal to address the rally at 5.15 pm.
On Monday, Kejriwal will pay homage to Dayanand Bandodkar near Old Secretariat, Jack Sequeira at NIO circle, Dona Paula and T B Cunha at Azad Maidan in Panaji.
Later in the day, he will have a closed-door interaction with volunteers in Panaji before leaving for Delhi.
Speaking on the sidelines of the press conference, Pankaj Gupta, national secretary, AAP, informed that, “There will be ten donation counters at the rally, where people can donate. Besides, we have also launched a mobile app called ‘Aap Ka Daan’, which allows people to donate money and receive a receipt immediately. AAP runs on donations given by people.”
Sounding upbeat about Sunday's public meeting, Gupta said, "The response for the upcoming rally has been great, and we can sense a fear in Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP).”
During the last two months, AAP volunteers have been actively campaigning across the State. The party has distributed 2.15 lakh door-to-door invitations to people across Goa, and is expecting a huge turnout at the rally.
