PORVORIM

Porvorim MLA Rohan Khaunte has complained that a number of internal roads in Porvorim constituency have become unmotorable, with the State government not hotmixing the roads since the last three years.

He claimed that continuous digging of roads to lay underground power cables, sewage lines and water pipelines had damaged a number of roads in Porvorim constituency, adding that authorities did not tar the roads when the work was over.

“I had written a letter to Chief Minister Pramod Sawant about the dilapidated condition of roads in Porvorim constituency. Roads have not been hotmixed since the last three years and work to hotmix roads has already started in other constituencies,” said Khaunte.

“I had also also requested the chief minister to pave the way for various development projects in my constituency, which are awaiting administrative approval and expenditure sanction by the government.”

“Various files are pending for administrative approval and expenditure sanctions since last two years and they need urgent attention.”

The Porvorim MLA said work on the new market complex, water treatment plant, science park, art park and sport complex have been going on at snail’s pace.
