BELAGAVI
In order to foster the innovation and entrepreneurship culture and providing students with opportunities, KLS President Anant Mandgi on Saturday inaugurated an Incubation Centre named KLSGRID (GIT’s Research, Innovation, and Development Centre and an Artificial Intelligence Lab.
Both the centres will allow all innovators to set up their start-ups at KLS GIT and utilise the infrastructure of the college and utilise student internships to grow their start-ups and also seek technical advice and guidance. Eight start-ups will start operating from this centre immediately.
The centre can support 50 start-ups currently while another 25,000 square feet incubation centre will be built in the next 18 months at KLS GIT. An office of The Indus Entrepreneurs, Hubballi will be also set up to further boost the entrepreneurial ecology of Belagavi.
The Artificial Intelligence (AI) Lab is expected to take KLS GIT to the highest level in the field of Computer Science making AI technology available to all the students.
In his address, President Mandgi spoke about how KLS was investing crores of rupees in its infrastructure to meet needs and aspirations of students. He also appreciated the perseverance and adaptability of the faculty and staff to changing technology.
Staff, students, parents, members of various organisations, CII, TiEHubli, Belgaum Chamber of Commerce, and BETCA was present. Principal Dr M S Patil and Dr Shwetha Goudar also spoke. Sudheendra Ganachari, R S Mutalik, Rajendra Belgaumkar, and others were present.
