Kolkata victim: Law students hold rally, call for legal system functioning in fair and swift manner

Students of the Govind Ramnath Kare College of Law, Margao took out a rally in the city demanding justice for the woman doctor raped and killed in Kolkata.

Armed with banners and placards, the students kicked off the rally at the school campus, before it went round the city demanding justice for the doctor and protection for women.

The rally was organised by the students Council in association with the NSS unit of the law college.

The students told the media that the rally is a collective voice to demand that justice is done and that such heinous crimes will never go unpunished.

They said they are not only marching in memory of the rape victim, but to demand that the legal system function in a fair and swift manner, asserting the society cannot afford any delays in action against the perpetrators of violence against women.
