A youth from Koparde in Sattari taluka has been reported missing from Andhra Pradesh since the last 16 days.
According to sources, Rupesh Shivaram Pilgaonkar (24) had gone to Andhra Pradesh as a cleaner on a truck. He is a rickshaw driver by profession and has been operating a rickshaw in Valpoi area for many years.
As the company gate was closed at night, the truck was parked in front of the gate of the company. Rupesh Pilgaonkar and the truck driver decided to sleep in the truck for the night.
A CCTV camera captured Rupesh Pilgaonkar alighting from the truck at midnight to answer nature’s call.
When he did not return to the truck till morning, the truck driver filed a missing complaint in at the local police station in Andhra Pradesh. The local police made efforts but could not locate him.
Rupesh’s wife then filed a missing complaint with the Valpoi police station and the Valpoi police is coordinating with the local police in Andhra Pradesh.
Attempts to track his mobile phone proved unsuccessful as his mobile phone was switched off.
A Valpoi police team is expected to leave for Andhra Pradesh in search of Pilgaonkar.
