PERNEM: A 27-year-old police constable attached to Porvorim police station died while undergoing medical treatment after he met with a self-accident at Korgao on Saturday evening.
According to Pernem Police, Kunal Pednekar of Keri-Pernem was proceeding from Korgao to Keri when he fell into a roadside gutter while riding his two-wheeler.
Pednekar was seriously injured in the mishap and was shifted to District Hospital Mapusa, before being later moved to GMC hospital in Bambolim.
He died of injuries on Monday and the final rites will be performed on Tuesday.
Pednekar had joined Goa Police four years ago and is survived by his parents, two brother and his wife, who is seven months pregnant.
