Starting July, Kadamba Bus Transport Corp. will discontinue its pass concession scheme for employees of government departments, autonomous bodies, and corporations.
This scheme, originally introduced under late Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar, is being halted because pass holders already receive a transport allowance, which is viewed as a double benefit.
The change means hundreds of employees will now have to cover their transportation costs to work.
