Panaji: Indian airlines have issued new guidelines for passengers travelling to Dubai on visit visas. The airlines have warned that travellers without the necessary documents may be denied boarding and could even face deportation.
The advisory, sent to travel agents in India and the UAE, emphasizes that travellers must carry valid passports, return tickets, accommodation details, and proof of sufficient funds.
Key points of the advisory include:
- Passports must be valid for at least six months from the date of entry.
- Travelers must have a confirmed return ticket and proof of a confirmed hotel reservation.
- Visitors should have Dh3,000 (around Rs68,000) for a 1-month visa and Dh5,000 for a longer stay.
- Additional documents may be needed if staying with relatives or friends who are UAE residents.
The airlines have made it clear that passengers without these documents will be denied boarding at the departing airport, and all related charges will be billed to the ticketing agency. If a traveller is denied entry at a UAE airport, the airline is responsible for returning them to India. Therefore, airlines are conducting strict document checks before issuing boarding passes.
Travel agents report that most travellers are now well-prepared and aware of the requirements, ensuring they have all the necessary documents to avoid any issues.
