On the occasion of ‘World Brain Awareness Week’ between October 24 and October 31, the Lakeview group of hospitals, Belagavi, is conducting a free consultation for Goan patients diagnosed with brain-related tumours.

The consultation will be offered free to those treated surgically or non-surgically for brain tumour for their further treatment plan and lifestyle modification. They will be also offered surgery, if required, at an affordable cost.

The Lakeview medial team has urged Goans to avail the benefit as Dr Raviraj Ghorpade, senior consultant neurosurgeon with over 16 years experience in dealing brain and spinal cord tumours, will offer consultation to patients free of cost.

“There is a myth that brain tumours are incurable and have to be removed, but most of them are curable, if detected early. We have advanced technology and expertise for safe brain tumour surgery with a good margin of preserved neurological status.”

“Advanced techniques like DTI–MRI, fluorescence and neuro-navigation guided surgery for brain tumours is taken here every day, supported by MRI and CT Scan.”

“However, in tier 2 and tier 3 cities, there is a rising need for awareness that brain tumours when detected early can be treated by an experienced neuro onco-surgeon treating such conditions regularly,” Dr Ghorpade said.

He added that advanced technology has also led to an improved outcome post-surgery, with the patient being able to lead a normal and productive life after the surgery without any neurological deficits.

In an attempt to raise awareness, the Lakeview group of hospitals has come up with this free consultation and further details are available on: 0831-4215586/2403333 or 8762996508.
