CURCHOREM: A vehicle rally to support and celebrate the International Mother Language Day was conducted in Sanguem taluka.
A large number of motorcycles and cars took part in the rally from Neturlim and they passed through the villages of Vaddem, Bhati, Vilian and Uguem, before culminating at Sanguem.
Later at a meeting at Sanguem bus stand, Vinay Premanand Naik appealed to the State government to come up with a decision on MoI. He said primary education is necessary to be given in mother tongue of the child.
"Unfortunately, our politicians fail to understand the basic principles of education and if the government continues to neglect this principle, then it will prove to be a big mistake,” he said.
Later, the rally moved to Kotarli, Molcarnem, Zambaulim, Colamb and Rivona and dispersed at Shri Vimaleshwar temple hall.
