Lecture series at Raia
PANAJI: Dakshinayan Abhiyan will be organising the Third Friday session on May 6, at 6 pm at Nehru Centre, Raia. Padmashri Dr Ganesh Devi, intellectual and author will talk on 'At the slippery turn: The glory of future.'
Ganesh Devi is the former professor of English at the Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda, a literary critic and activist and is the founder director of the Bhasha Research and Publication Center, Vadodara and Adivasi Academy at Tejgadh, Gujarat. He led the People's Linguistic Survey of India in 2010, which has researched and documented 780 Living Indian Languages.
He was awarded Padma Shri in 2014 in recognition of his work with denotified and nomadic tribe's education and his work on dying languages. He was bestowed with Sahitya Akademi award, which he returned in 2015.
