Stating that 5 lakh households in Goa would get LED bulbs under the Ujala scheme, Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar said that all the government departments and educational institutions would also switch to LED bulbs in a short span of time.
Addressing a news conference ahead of a two-day conference of Power, Renewable Energy & Mines Ministers of States & Union Territories at Arossim, Parsekar said LED bulbs would help in energy saving and urged the people to change to LED bulbs.
“The State government is in favour of smart metering in the State and will go for it throughout the State,” he added.
Earlier, Union Minister Piyush Goyal along with Parsekar handed over three LED bulbs each to three local consumers.
