A leopard was found dead in a well at Keri-Sattari on Wednesday morning.
Sources from the Forest Department informed The Goan that the leopard was sighted near the house of Shrikant Gawas at Morshe-Keri at around 4 am on Wednesday.
When inmates of the house raised an alarm, the leopard ran away in the nearby agriculture farm. The house owner later alerted forest officials and after a search operation, forest officials found the leopard dead in the well.
A team of forest officials led by RFO (Keri Range) Girish Banuldkar managed to fish out the dead leopard with the help of fire services personnel and locals. The dead animal was disposed off after a post mortem.
