Claiming that parties organised on a floating boat in Chapora river at Tembwada-Morjim is creating noise pollution, the residents of Morjim have demanded removing the boat, failing which they have threatened to agitate.
Residents alleged that for the last four years, the boat is in Chapora river and parties are being organised on the boat from evening till morning. The residents have submitted a memorandum to Mandrem MLA Dayanand Sopte, coastal police, Pernem Police and Pernem deputy collector.
The memorandum stated that police had initiated action against night parties in this boat, but after some time loud music again started to play on the boat.
"We don't have problem if music is played on the boat on the midnight of December 31, but we won't keep quiet if music is continuously played till morning," warned a resident.
