The gram sabha presided by Sarpanch Nayan Naik was attended by only 14 villagers.
The number of villagers was very compared to previous gram sabhas.
Panchayat secretary Sushant Naik informed the members about the ongoing works under Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA), to which the residents suggested some works to be carried out under the scheme.
In January 2013, the Bandora residents had ended the gram sabha at 8 pm, demanding the resignations of panchas after accusing them of failing to demolish the controversial approach road at Katamgalli-Farmagudi. The residents had alleged that the road was constructed to facilitate access to mega project.
PWD is constructing these roads by spending Rs 2.14 crore, which will help GEC to make campus exclusive for students, as presently, internal roads of the campus are used by the public to reach Veling-Priol and other religious place near ITI.
Kurpaskar also raised the issue of medical waste being dumped along roadside in the panchayat jurisdiction. The panchayat assured to lodge police complaint if such instances are witnessed again.
Besides the speed breakers in the areas of Ramnathi, Bokadbhag, near Nageshi temple and in the vicinity of Mahalaxmi temple, resolutions in regard to extending shed of KTC bus stand, assessment of house taxes and requesting comunidade to handover the land behind ITI-Farmagudi for a playground were passed by the gram sabha.
Panchayat sources informed that after the house tax assessment, the local body is expecting additional revenue of Rs 7 to 8 lakh, which at present is Rs 9 lakh with Rs 22 lakh arrears.
Panchas Sukhanand Kurpaskar, Shambu Gawade, Ramachandra Naik, Rajendra Naik, Ramchandra Jay Naik, Sharmila Lotlikar, Balkrishna Pancham and Madhu Naik from Block Development Office were present.
