Bhagharati Motor Driving School and Top Gear were the two popular driving schools among the three that had to face the axe for failure to comply with various stipulated conditions to run the schools.
There are 27 motor driving schools in Bardez.
The action has come about after the Lokayukta officials recently pointed out various irregularities in the functioning of the motor driving schools.
Lokayukta, P K Mishra has issued a notice to the transport department asking for a response to the findings.
"These schools won't be able to operate for a minimum period of three months. If the licencees fulfill all the required conditions, then the department may revoke their suspension," said Ivo Rodrigues, Assistant Director of Transport, Mapusa.
Of the 11 other driving schools that were issued show-cause notices, at least seven were accounted for major violations, while four have been pulled up for minor irregularities.
According to the rules, motor driving schools should have a proper office including a classroom with a black board, proper signal charts and a minimum of one vehicle to teach driving to the trainees.
The driver responsible to teach driving should have five years driving licence.
The officials of the transport department reportedly do not carry out periodic inspection of the driving schools after issuing them permission to operate.
The schools are checked again only when the owners of the driving school seek renewal of the licence to operate, once in five years.
A team of officials of the Lokayukta have found several deficiencies in the functioning of the driving schools in the State.
