The Goa Lokayukta will conduct a hearing as part of a preliminary inquiry into the alleged case of disproportionate assets filed against Power minister Pandurang

Madkaikar.

The matter will be heard on June 19 at the office of the Lokayukta.

In a complaint filed on June 7 under Section 11 of the Goa Lokayukta Act, Adv Aires Rodrigues had drawn the attention of the Lokayukta that Pandurang Madkaikar’s Nikitasha Realtors Pvt Ltd on April 1, inaugurated a huge palatial bungalow in survey No 144/2 next to the Basilica of Bom Jesus at Old Goa.

Adv Rodrigues along with his complaint submitted to the Lokayukta photographs of the bungalow and a copy of the Affidavit of assets & liabilities filed by Pandurang Madkaikar on January 13, 2017 along with his nomination papers at the 2017 Assembly Elections.

In his complaint, Rodrigues pointed out that in his Income-tax returns for the financial year 2015-16 Pandurang Madkaikar had shown his total income for the year at Rs 1,44,389 and that of his wife Janita as Rs 24,389.

Stating that a perusal of the affidavit of assets and liabilities filed by Pandurang Madkaikar clearly reveals that the construction was clearly disproportionate to his known source of income.
