OLD GOA
A lone participant was present at the Old Goa fast satyagraha even as the protest marked 150 days, on Friday.
When The Goan visited the site in the evening, only Brazilio Braganza was present, giving indications that the satyagraha could very well be nearing the end.
When contacted, Save Old Goa Action Committee (SOGAC) president Fatima Pereira claimed she could not remain present as she was pre-occupied.
Pereira also informed that they are going to conclude the satyagraha no sooner they get an appointment with the chief minister.
“We are waiting to get an appointment with Chief Minister Pramod Sawant to discuss on the issue. After that, we will call off the satyagraha,” she added.
Meanwhile, sources informed that SOGAC members have been meeting various MLAs since the past several days and submitting a memorandum to them seeking their support on the issue.
