MARGAO
Music played non-stop at the otherwise deserted KTC Margao bus stand on Sunday as the Corporation implemented a shut down in service as part of the Janata Curfew.
Barring a lone passenger from Kerala, who had landed at the bus stand from the Margao railway station, and was waiting to head to Panaji, the KTC bus stand observed a total curfew throughout Sunday.
Music, however, played non-stop at the place and a group of KTC officials, who just made their presence felt at the stand, said they have no control over the music, claiming it is being controlled from elsewhere.
While the KTC buses were all parked inside the depot, private buses, including inter-state ones, were parked all over the bus stand. The KTC shuttle service counter was shut down, with no official manning the counter, perhaps for the first time.
Taking advantage of the absence of the buses and the passengers, KTC officials disinfected the bus stand with disinfectants as was being done repeatedly since the coronavirus scare hit the state.
The lone passenger from Kerala was hoping that the bus service may start by evening. He landed at the Margao railway station and came to the KTC bus stand on a motorcycle.
