Paliencar, who succeeded former minister Dayanand Mandrekar as the representative in the constituency, expressed his angst that the parties were going on till 4 am.
“Once again I have just called and instructed the police to stop these late-night parties. In spite of several warnings and reminders, late night music goes on till 3 to 4 in the morning which is creating problems not only for senior citizens but also to students who are answering their board exams,” Paliencar said in a post on social media.
The tone adopted by Palyekar is in stark contrast to that adopted by his predecessor who used to support late-night parties and in one instance is believed to have ensured the transfer of then North Goa Superintendent of Police Vijay Singh who had begun to crack down on such parties.
“I have given a final warning to the police now and will meet the CM regarding the matter,” Palyekar said.
