The Canacona Fire Services received a call at about 7.45 am to report that gas was leaking from a domestic cylinder near the Bhumipurush hall at Dhavalkhazan-Agonda.
The fire fighters rushed to the spot and swiftly moved the leaking gas cylinder out of the kitchen and immediately controlled the leakage.
Sources told The Goan that a family staying in the rear room of the community hall was using the gas cylinder and noticed gas leakage, when they tried to switch on the gas stove to prepare tea. The family alerted others around, who called fire services for assistance.
