Luizinho, Churchill play safe at Fatorda rural sports meet
Goa Pradesh Congress Committee President Luizinho Faleiro set his foot in Fatorda on Sunday sounding a caution that those who live in glass houses should not throw stones at others, even as former PWD Minister, Churchill Alemao said he has no problem if Congress denies him the ticket, reiterating that he would contest as an Independent.

Luizinho and Churchill along with deputy Chief Minister, Francis D Souza were invited as guests for the Rural Sports at the SAG grounds, Fatorda on Sunday evening. “I do not want to comment on the allegations made by Sardesai. But, one thing is clear that those who live in glass houses should not throw stones at others. The case that Sardesai is referring to has been thrown out by the court with the contempt it deserved”, Faleiro said, during an informal chat with media as he along with Francis and Churchill were coming out of SAG complex. When pressed further on Sardesai s comment that Congress is BJP s B team, Faleiro shot back, “I have already told you who is the B team of BJP”. He, however, hastened to add that he does not want to comment saying it may dish out a different impression. “Those who believe in secularism should unite”, he added. Asked to comment on AICC general secretary Digvijai Singh s statement that Vijai Sardesai is welcome in the party, Luizinho said in a democracy, people are free to make any statements. “Yes, Digvijai is our general secretary, but in a democracy everyone has the right to make statements. I do not want to comment further on that”. Asked whether he has decided to contest the coming election, Luizinho evaded a direct reply saying he had disclosed his stand so many times. “Are you asking this because you are worried that have stepped in Fatorda”, Luizinho said in a lighter vein. He said the Aam Aadmi Party will not have any impact on Congress in Goa, saying that Delhi and Goa are two different areas. “Delhi is Delhi and Goa is Goa”, he said, adding the party is trying to bring in new faces. Churchill Alemao told the media that there is no case in the Louis Berger bribery charges made against him, making it clear that he would contest the coming poll as an independent if the Congress denies him the ticket.
