Local residents called up the media after they found the occupants of the car holed up inside the bar for a long time. However, before the media could arrive at the spot, the car carrying the occupants zoomed towards the South Goa Collectorate complex, less than 300 meters away from the bar.
Based on the vehicle registration number and other details provided by the residents, the media headed to the Collectorate complex, only to find an occupant of the car in a semi conscious state and puking.
When the matter was brought to the notice of the South Goa Additional Collector, Johnson Fernandes, he said it would amount a serious matter if what is reported by the media turns out true. “The matter will be investigated by the election authorities whether the vehicle was found outside the bar and whether the occupants were found in an inebriated state,” Johnson said.
