Shiksha Vision, Bicholim is presenting ‘Mahilancha Utsavi Jagar’ on January 26 from 3 pm onwards at Hirabai Zantye Memorial Hall at Bicholim. There will be various competitions and other spot activities to keep the women participants engaged all through the event. Those who wish to participate in the competitions can contact the respective persons and register their names - for Mehendi competition interested participants can coordinate with Sanjivi Naik (808352567), for Pakkala contact Rakshanda Pai (9823237843), for Rangoli call (Shobha Gadekar (9145785880), for Fati and Garland (flower ornamentation) register with Bharati Naik Mamlekar (94212244350), for Ukhane, contact Leena Shetye (9421157580), for Kesharachana (hairstyle) one can register their name with Navya Chari (9049934730). Other spot activities include musical chair, karaoke and fun games. Apart from coordinators, there are program mentors and persons in-charge for each of these competitions.
The participants will have to bring their own material for Mehendi, Rangoli, Fati & Garland as well as Kesharachana competitions. The person participating in the competition has to apply mehendi on the full palm of any other person. Creativity and neatness would be judged and only 50 registrations on a first come first basis will be entertained. For Pakkala the participant has to bring one already prepared veg dish of milk or milk product and a written recipe to be submitted. The criteria is presentation, taste, texture and ingredients. Ukhane has to be in Hindi, Marathi or Konkani language and they will be judged on creativity, sense of articulation, humour and voice modulation. Kesharachana will be judged on presentation, sophistication, creativity and neatness.
The program mentor for Pakkala is Rohidas Pai and incharge are Teja Gavthankar, Rashmi Bhagat and Sucheta Gawde. For Rangoli the mentor is Narayan Betkekar and in charge persons are Ridhima Pal, Raika Tulpule and Pooja Gawas. For Fati & Garland the program mentor is Gunjan Korgaonkar and in charge are Anisha Parmekar and Reema Vernekar. The program mentor for Kesharachana is Nilesh Parab and in charge are Shobha Sinai Navhelkar and Renuka Govekar. For Ukhane, Pravin Sawant is the mentor and Zarina Shaikh is in charge and for Mehendi, Shekhar Naik is the mentor and Yasmeen Aga is the in charge person.
