Incessant rains inundated several main roads, while reports of water entering residential houses have come in from Old market, Dongorim-Navelim, Benaulim on Friday.
The district authorities on Friday once again closed the Margao-Quepem road at Paroda after the road was inundated.
Fire services also moved in at Guddi at Paroda to rescue a marooned family.
Many roads were underwater, including the one at Chandor as the water level of the Kushawati river rose dangerously since midnight.
Prabhudesai further informed that an area at Dongorim-Navelim was affected by the rising water. He said the disaster management team was rushed to Dongorim to evacuate the marooned people, but the inhabitants said they will move to their relatives.
Areas at Rawanfond and adjoining Aquem-Baixo village were inundated with flood waters.
At Old market, water entered the residential houses near the court building. The road leading to the court building was shut as a portion of the road was submerged.
Meanwhile, traffic on the National Highway 66 was disrupted at Cuncolim on Friday morning as the road from Uskiband to the Cuncolim bus stand was flooded.
At Arlem-Raia, traffic on the Margao-Ponda state highway was disrupted due to the inundation of one-lane of the two-lane highway.
Traffic movement on the National Highway 66 was disrupted early morning at Cuncolim. Flood waters had submerged the stretch of the road between Uskinibandh and the Bus stand. Locals pointed out that the road has been flooded with waters after around half a decade.
The authorities shut one lane of the Arlem-Raia road after the flood water submerged one lane, hampering traffic movement.
