District Magistrate North have put people residing along the banks of river Chapora in Pernem, Bicholim and Bardez talukas on alert after a rise in water in the Tillari reservoir.
The alert has been issued as a precautionary measure in light of the Red Alert issued by IMD as the discharge from Tillari dam has started.
SDMA along with Water Resource Department is monitoring the situation, and Maharashtra officials are monitoring the situation at the Tillari reservoir round-the-clock and providing updates.
Revenue officials through Talathis and Panchayats have sounded the alert to all the residents of villages along the Chapora in Pernem, Bicholim and Bardez.
