Upon the complaint of a woman (name withheld) to the effect that from 02/02/2023 to November 2024, at Varca Salcete, the accused person namely (name withheld) impersonated himself as an educated engineer and married the complainant lady and thereafter on different occasion assaulted the complainant and had forceful unnatural sex with the complainant.
The police stated that the accused further demanded money and property from the complainant and her family members and took money and gold ornaments from the complainant and when they refused to give property, the accused person extorted money from the family members of the complainant and later left the complainant without any intimation subjecting the complainant to cruelty and cheating.
When the complainant and her family member went to enquire with the accused person, the accsued threatened the complainant with dire consequences.
In this respect, the Colva police have registered offenses under section 319(1), 115(2) 64(1), 308(2), 85, 318(4), 351(3) BNS.
