VASCO:
Mormugao police have arrested a man on charges of assaulting a youth and causing him grievous injuries in a rented room at Baina-Vasco.
As per the complaint filed by Rahul Kumar Majhe (20) of Baina and a native of Bihar, the incident occurred on May 25 at around 9 pm when the accused, identified as Rahul Kumar Sahni, also residing in Baina and hailing from Bihar, allegedly attacked Rajesh with a wooden rafter on the head.
The victim sustained head injuries and was shifted to Goa Medical College and Hospital, Bambolim, where he is currently undergoing treatment.
Police have registered an offence under Section 109 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023. The accused was arrested and remanded to four days of police custody.
Further investigation is being conducted by PSI Stanley Gomes of Mormugao Police Station, under the supervision of PI Sherif Jacques and guidance of Mormugao DySP Gurudas Kadam.
