The Cyber Crime police on Friday arrested a 28-year-old man from Saligao for allegedly downloading and viewing obscene material involving children.
The accused, identified as Shivam Shrivastava, a native of Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh, was arrested under Section 67-B of the Information Technology Act and Section 15(1) of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. The case was registered based on a complaint received by the police. The offence was recorded on October 26, 2025.
After a detailed technical investigation, cyber crime officials traced the suspect to Saligao and arrested him.
