Vasco police have registered an offence against Samir alias Chammu, a resident of New Vaddem, for allegedly assaulting a man and his wife and later attacking police personnel who intervened to control the situation.
According to a complaint filed by Santosh Prajapati of Vaddem, the incident took place around 8.30 pm on September 19 near the water tank at New Vaddem.
The accused allegedly assaulted Prajapati and his wife with his fists and later attacked Prajapati with a stone and a knuckle, causing injuries to both.
The accused also allegedly obstructed traffic at the spot. When police personnel intervened to control the situation, he allegedly resisted and assaulted them while they were discharging their official duties.
Vasco police registered an offence under Sections 109, 115(2), 118(1), 121(1) and 132 of the BNS.
Further investigation is being conducted by PSI Suresh Velip of Vasco Police Station under the supervision of PI Vaibhav Naik and guidance of Mormugao DySP SP Gurudas Kadam.
