Mapusa accident: driver remanded further

A local Mapusa court on Thursday extended the police remand of the accused car driver, who fatally knocked down the young girl, Angana Naik, and seriously injured her brother, by another five days.

The driver from Feira Alta, Gaurav Malgaonkar, who was driving the Innova car, was arrested by the Mapusa Police soon after the accident on January 20.

Meanwhile the bail hearing of Malgaonkar will come up for hearing in the Additional District Court, Mapusa, on Friday morning.

Meanwhile, Mapusa Police have appealed to those who were present during the accident to come forward and bear witness to the incident.

It may be recalled that the deceased Tivim girl, Angana Naik (22) and her brother, Anuj Naik (29) was knocked down by the car driver early morning when they waiting for a company bus near the bus stand in Mapusa.
