The annual feast of Our Lady of Milagres will be celebrated at St Jerome’s Church, Mapusa on April 11.
“The feast mass will be celebrated at 10 am and will be celebrated by Fr Simon Rico Fernandes OFM, Capucino,” informed Fr Dennis Fernandes, parish priest of Mapusa.
The other masses will be celebrated at 5.00, 6.15, 7.30 and 8.45 (English) in the morning and at 4 and 5.15 in the evening.
The nine-day novenas will culminate with the vespers on Sunday. The vespers will be held at 6 pm on April 10.
The parishioners have decided to organise a three-day entertainment programme in the church compound beginning from the feast day.
On the first day (April 11), the award-winning drama 'Problem' will be staged in the church campus. Various entertainment programmes have been scheduled over the next two days.
The church as usual has a wax-oil stall run by the Sisters of the Handmaids of Christ from Calangute. The last date of the wax-oil stall will be April 20.
Meanwhile, the Mapusa Municipal Council will hold its traditional Milagreas Feast Dance on April 11 from 9 pm onwards at Mapusa Communidade AC hall in Mapusa. The popular band 'Syndicate' will be in attendance at the dance.
