An elaborate palki cum dindi procession will toast the foundation day celebration at the Shri Rastroli Devasthan at Shetay-vaddo in Mapusa.
The devasthan committee headed by Babal Dhargalkar has listed a two-day programme on May 11 and 12 to celebrate the foundation day.
“The 12th anniversary of installation of idol at Shri Rastroli Devasthan will be held with special ‘Kshetrapal Yagyas’ performed by the priest Ballal Apte which will be followed by mahaprasad in the first half on the first day (May 11),” said Babal Dhargalkar, while addressing a press conference on Wednesday.
He said in the evening a Divaj ustav will be held which will be followed by a drama directed by Ranjan Mayekar and the participants will be local youth.
On the second day the temple committee will be holding an elaborate palki along with dindi procession which will wind its way through the lanes of the locality.
A rangoli competition has also been organised for youth of the locality.
The following are the members of the new Shri Rastroli Devasthan committee: Babal Dhargalkar (President), Virendra Mayekar (Vice President), Prasad Parsekar (Secretary), Darshan Shetye (Joint Secretary), Siddhesh Divkar (Treasurer) and Jaideep Naik (Joint Treasurer ).
Satish Mapsekar, Vivek Divkar, Nandu Nagvenkar, Sunny Kalangutkar are members and Rajan Mayenkar, Arun Gawandalkar and Mahendra Tar are advisers.
