Market, hall for Chodan-Madel shortly

Minister for Panchayat Raj, Environment and Forest Rajendra Arlekar laid the foundation stone for the construction of a market complex and community hall at Chodan-Madel under Deendayal Panchayat Raj Infrastructure Development (Golden Jubilee) scheme.
The foundation stone was laid in the presence of Speaker Anant Shet, Sports Minister Ramesh Tawadkar, GSIDC chairman and Sankhali MLA Dr Pramod Sawant, GSIDC vice chairman and Panaji MLA Sidharth Kuncalienker, Adhyaksha-NGZP Ankita Navelar, ZP member Mayem Shankar Chodankar and director of Directorate of Panchayats Gurudas P Pilarnekar and others.
Chodan Madel Sarpanch Arti Bandodkar, deputy sarpanch Vasudev Dhuri and panchayat members were also present.
The market complex will provide much needed infrastructure to Madel village and meet the needs of the people. Chodan Madel Panchayat had sought to build a market complex with shops which would cater to day-to-day needs of the local residents. The project is a self revenue generation project.
An area of 2120 sqmts has been earmarked for the market project with a built-up area of 908 sq mtrs. The market complex will consist of 16 shops on the ground floor, while the upper ground includes a mini hall with a seating capacity of 250 and an open hall.
The market complex will provide much needed infrastructure and facilities to the people of the village. The project is expected to be completed in 15 months.
