Despite being located very close to the Dabos water project, Masorde village in Sattari has been facing an acute shortage of drinking water for the past four days.

Voicing anger over the situation, women from the village have warned that if the problem is not resolved within the next two days, they will stage a Ghagri Morcha (pot protest march) to the Valpoi water supply office.

Villagers have also requested Health Minister and local MLA Vishwajit Rane to intervene in the matter.

According to aggrieved residents, taps have completely dried up four days ago, and no water was being supplied through the pipelines.

Initially, they expected the supply to resume by evening, but even after four days, taps in many houses remain dry.

They said several attempts were made to contact the Valpoi water supply, but they received unsatisfactory responses. The exact reason for the disruption in water supply has not been clarified so far and there is growing resentment among villagers against the water supply officials.

Residents also pointed out that Masorde frequently faces drinking water shortages and demanded a permanent solution to ensure uninterrupted and full-time drinking water supply to the village.
