Mentally disturbed man abuses Tivim residents

But what was even more disturbing is the rnpicture of the man being handled

MAPUSA
An overly aggressive man, who apparently lost his mental balance and went berserk in Bonglo-Tivim was successfully tamed by Mapusa Police and later admitted to Institute of Psychiatry and Human Behaviour some four days back.
The police may have done a fine job in overpowering the aggressive man, but the way he was trapped and handled appeared a trifle inhuman.
Pictures on social media showed the man’s hands tied behind his back and he was kept by the side of the road.
Considering the misuse of social media, The Goan made inquiries and confirmed that the picture was authentic. As per the information gathered by The Goan, the man, Jaganath Swinne, a native of Orissa had rented a room along with two other roommates in Bonlgo-Tivim.The man was in good health and was in normal state of mind until February 18.The man, a labourer by profession, came home by afternoon that day. He became very aggressive and began abusing the owner, who is a disabled person, sources told The Goan. Police were immediately summoned and the Mapusa Police picked him up that afternoon and after he sobered down the same evening, brought him back and left him in the room at around 10 pm.
At midnight, the man became aggressive again and began troubling the roommates, who came out and locked him in. But the man broke the door and came out and began to abuse and beat up his roommates.
A police robot jeep came to the site, but could not control the aggressive man so much so that some of them had to face his anger. It was only after the arrival of another police robot jeep that the man was brought under control.
The police after a medical check-up transferred him to IPHB, Bambolim.
