The Mormugao Hindu Samaj (MHS) has expressed concern over the encroachments at Kharewado and speed breakers along the narrow access road leading to the Hindu crematorium at Kharewado managed by MHS.

The newly elected president, Vasco-based industrialist Narayan Bandekar on Friday informed that MHS has already written to the Mormugao Municipal Council to get the speed-breakers removed along the access road to the Hindu crematorium at Kharewado and a hearing was also held at MMC.

Bandekar informed that MHS would set up Goa’s first eco-friendly crematorium operated by electricity or CNG gas at Maimolem.

According to the new president, the WRD would be building a retaining wall to the new crematorium and there will be a children’s park, meditation centre and landscaped gardens that will be developed in stages.

Bandekar also informed that MHS has acquired a mobile morgue that would be made available to all people of all religions anytime when needed.
